Softball
Holy Spirit softball girls have started the season with a record of 4-3. The pitchers—Celie Olguin, a sixth grader and Meagan Tucker, a fifth grader—have kept the team competitive in the Greater Houston Athletic Conference with their excellent pitching. The Saints infield has supported their pitchers extremely well—Sarah Lasater at short stop, Casey Craft at first base, and Ruth Farmer at third.
The Saints played a tournament this weekend at Houston Christian and did very well. They came out blazing by beating River Oaks Baptist 11-3, but suffered a tough loss to Annunciation 1-3. They beat Trinity of Galveston 6-2 on Saturday morning to remain in bracket play but were defeated by AOS 6-1 that afternoon to end their tournament. Celie Olguin was selected as the Saints Most Valuable Player for the tournament. The Lady Saints, in their first competitive tournament, played tough and represented Holy Spirit with pride.
The Saints still remain competitive in conference play and look forward to finishing strong. The team is young with only one eight grader, four seventh graders, five six graders and two fifth graders. Please come and support the Holy Spirit Saints Softball team!
Baseball
