Athletics
Holy Spirit’s Athletics Programs seek to develop a student’s physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. While winning is a desirable goal, the development of the athlete’s skills, sportsmanship, ability to work as a team, and leadership qualities are the major objectives.

Youth Sports
The Youth Sports Program provides four-year-olds and lower school students an introduction to team sports and the foundational skills involved in each. School teams participate in balanced, but competitive league play for soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, and t-ball. Holy Spirit Youth Sports Program is designed to help students develop the skills and interest in team sports that will support participation in the Middle School Athletic Program in later years. Parent involvement is important to the success of the Youth Sports Program. Numerous parents participate in coaching and assisting the student teams. Holy Spirit Youth Sports Program is a member of the West Houston Christian Sports Association.

For more information on registration and fees for lower school sports, please contact our Youth Sports Coordinator, Mike Fendley, at Fendleys@sbcglobal.net or 713-468-5138, ext. 284.

Holy Spirit Middle School Athletics Program develops a student’s physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. While winning is a desirable goal, the development of the athlete’s skills, sportsmanship, ability to work as a team, and leadership qualities are the major objectives. The athletic program also seeks to help maintain a balance between academics and sports. Games and practices are scheduled to minimize interference with the athlete’s schedule. The Middle School Athletic Program provides opportunities for fifth through eighth grade students to participate in team sports. The Junior Varsity Program focuses on the development of fundamental skills and introduces competiveness. The Varsity Program builds upon these fundamental skills and is a more competitive program. Our varsity teams compete in the Greater Houston Athletic Conference with other private schools from the area.
